I witnessed the Cribbar being ridden. It is the big headland point at Fistral and it rarely breaks. Last year it was way bigger in February and a few Jetskis were pulling surfers in and I missed the action by one day. Some dudes went out there with their big guns and there was some long pauses but I got a few shots. 27/1/24 Rad day.

What can you say about Trestles that hasn't already been said,   it is amazing place to visit. INTRO  My name is Mark Lawer AKA Trawler and this is my first surfing photography online Blog/Book I have done quite a few print books on skateboarding. The rolling board has been a passion for me since my early teens. It has taken me a long way and I have seen a lot of the world. In my early days I was on the England Skateboard team that went to Vancouver in 1986.   Photography was something that came to me late in life, I finally did a course at my local community private studio. Lockdown got in the way but soon after I was up and out there taking photos of anything that moves fast.   In my later life I have the travelling bug and I cannot stop.   I have been all over with this project.   Hopefully my photography is improving with every trip. I am a bit of a landlubber.   I do not get in the water as I have hit 60 years old and I would probably won't be any good at it. Huntingdon Beach

What surfing pages would be complete without Huntington Beach? Say what you like about the place but the surf is consistent.   There are always good riders in the water usually very young and up-and-coming. The irony was not lost on me when I saw the statue of Duke Kahanamoku surrounded by rails and racks of cheap surf clothing . There is a certain ugly commercialism surrounding “Surf City”. If you scrape all that away and just get down to the shoreline and out in the water, it is a great place to be.   On my recent visit, there was a surf contest sponsored, to its credit by one of the big corner shops next to the pier. These events happen on one side of the pier while normal surfing continues on the other side. It is a good mix and I didn’t know which way to point my camera. It was like a tennis match between the two.
